ABOUT LUCILLE
Hi! I'm Lucille, a 22-year-old artist based in Washington, D.C., originally from San Francisco, CA (still home in my heart!). I moved across the country to study at American University, where I’m currently in my final semester pursuing a dual degree in Theatre Performance and Public Relations.
Theatre has always been my first love, but AU’s liberal arts education opened up an exciting new path in PR: one that complements and deepens my artistry. I was drawn to PR for its power to amplify the arts and tell meaningful stories. As a performer, my PR training has expanded my creative lens, allowing me to connect with audiences in new ways and advocate for the transformative power of theatre. I explore that intersection as a writer for DC Theater Arts, where I review performances and stay engaged with the vibrant D.C. arts scene, and at The Keegan Theatre, where I am the Arts Administration Intern.
I also honor my artistic roots by working as a Teaching Artist, bringing theatre into local elementary schools. Guiding young students as they discover their own voices through performance is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work.
I’m especially drawn to theatre that challenges, provokes, and inspires. I believe the most powerful stories are the ones that ask big questions, spark conversation, and leave room for hope. Theatre, to me, is a catalyst for change, and I’m passionate about creating and supporting work that reflects the world we live in while imagining something better.
